I just got word that a lease is in the mail, so when I've signed on the dotted line, I'll let you know for sure - again, thanks for the prayers. I'm optimistic, but still a little apprehensive which is completely normal when you're not sure what you're stepping into.
It's funny to be able to read these posts over the past year, see how God was working and still be clueless! He led us to this house - The Purple Palm - as we call it and now He's preparing us to leave. In November, I chronicled the story of my neighborhood in 3 posts: "Target", "Be Still" & "Victory" - it was about neighbors, Rebecca & Katherine (fake names). Here's the story....I led Rebecca to Christ and now she's going off to a new neighborhood where she's just purchased her first home. I'll be moving into her old house, and now I'll be neighbors with Katherine. This will be my Judea; a new place but not far from home. I'll be taking down those three posts within the next week, so if you want to read what happened, do it quickly. I'd like to make a completely fresh start and wipe the virtual slate clean.
God's bringing me full circle in many ways: reviving old dreams, restoring creativity and challenging my ability to love people I used to be like. In my Judea I'll have the opportunity to love some alcoholics, spiritually oppressed, mentally ill, serious partiers, and only God knows who else. I'm reminded that if I can be restored, after all I've done and He wants to use me in some way here, it's the least I can do. For now, I'll wait to sign the paperwork and then when it's done, I'll take a mini mental vacation and begin packing for the next adventure.
